Goldfish Re-imagined : Part Six - Hat, Close ups, Final Images

art as life...or is it life as art?

I find my life as an artist to be such an inward and ever growing experience. I am sure most artists do because after all isn't that what art is? On the tippy edge of such forward thinking and creating that most people in general have no idea to what you are trying explain (with words) what is in your head?

That is because it isn't coming from your head...it is coming from your heart...your soul. And at that time what is in your head still has one foot in the ethereal existence and one of being brought forth in a form to this world....so words are not the "medium" until it comes into this presence in what ever medium and dimension it chooses.

Ask any artist and they will tell you that is it NOT possible to live without creating. It has to...it must be done. It is the only way we can breathe...breath is life and life is art.

fi·na·le
/fəˈnalē,fəˈnälē/
noun
  1. the last part of a piece of music, a performance, or a public event, especially when particularly dramatic or exciting.

I have been asked many times, but after all that work "how can you let it go". But you see, it really wasn't "mine" to begin with!
That is art. it is a two way communication. As artists we must create but our work must be received for it to be whole.
So when we create we are not losing anything, in contrast, we are ever growing...ever gaining. Nothing is ever final. or really gone.

GOLDFISH : The Hat

It is part of my artistic signature, my hats. And I am in such a place now, to continue my journey and create my pieces and my hats in this updated (soul) form...

My art usually starts with a quick sketch...hat always there in some form.
Things are always added and always dropped.
And so this happened with the hat. I initially wanted to use a vintage netting...
It was in cream and I painted it gold...

As it dried the gold luster dissipated...so I brush it with my gold mica powder.
Needless to say this was one of those things that took at least a good hour+ to accomplish!

And in the end...it wasn't used!
That is life...that is art.

What did work!
